For the readers who don\u2019t know you yet. Would you introduce yourself briefly?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hello. I\u2019m Kevin Madigan. I\u2019m a sound engineer. I work on live shows and in the studio.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What were the most moving or interesting moments or projects in your career so far?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve been very fortunate to work with some legendary artists &#8211; Santana, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, David Gilmour. More recently I\u2019ve been working with Manny Marroquin mixing in Atmos in the studio for a lot of artists. We just finished the Black Panther-Wakanda Forever music soundtrack including some tracks by Rihanna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1310\" height=\"873\" src=\"https:\/\/dev01.contentcreators.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Bild1-1310x873-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10011\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>How did you come in touch with Austrian Audio Products the first time?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rob Mailman from Sound Image had introduced me initially then I spoke with Jack Kelly from Group One who distributes Austrian Audio in the US to try some mics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What Austrian Audio products are you currently using and for which application?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 x OC818 on Carlos\u2019s guitar and 1 x&nbsp;OC707 for Carlos vocals.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What do you like most about the Austrian Audio products that you were using so far?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m very happy about the reproduction clarity of the&nbsp;OC818 in particular.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What are your next plans for the coming year 2023<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lots more music<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Did Covid actually have a big impact on your work?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For all of us in the live side of the business it was devastating.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What are your favourite pieces of gear you\u2019re using FOH and why?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Digico SD5. They sound great and have an excellent workflow.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Do you have any tips for young, up &amp; coming live sound engineers, who want to start their live sound career?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Say yes to every good opportunity and learn as much as you can about every aspect of live sound like A.C. power, signal flow, flying loudspeaker arrays, system alignment and optimization (read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.precisionaudioservices.com\/book\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this book<\/a> cover to cover) &nbsp;and mixing.&nbsp;<br><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kevin Madigan is a Front of House, micing and recording engineer who has been behind a mixing console for over two decades.
